During the proofreading stage, I will check your manuscript (ideally in PDF format) for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors. I will apply a house style or create a tailored style sheet for the manuscript. I’ll suggest small changes for readability, check the contents page, bibliography and any facts within the book. I also ensure the page numbers, format, headings and any other design features are accurate.
As a rough guide, proofreading tends to cost between £0.01 and £0.013 per word. My proofreading service starts with a free sample edit of up to 1000 words, which allows me to give you a quote based on what the manuscript needs. If you are happy to go ahead, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit. If you are looking for a tailored package, feel free to get in touch.
