I offer engaged and detailed feedback on submissions and manuscripts, alongside CIEP-accredited copy editing and proofreading services.

How It Works

Once you have decided which service works for you, add it to your cart and fill out the form before purchasing.
I will send an introduction email with the details and contract, with suggested dates for services which include feedback session calls. Reply to this email with your signed contract and copy and I will be back in touch with the completed service.
The Pitch to Publication package includes a 15-minute introductory call, before you commit to the contract, in which we will discuss the process and timeline.

For copy editing and proofreading services, I am happy to offer a free 1000-word sample edit. Add the service you require to the cart and fill out the form, and I will email you for your copy. I will then provide a sample edit and quote.
Copy editing tends to cost between £0.016 and £0.024 per word and proofreading is generally between £0.01 and £0.013 per word.
If you agree to go ahead, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Feel free to reach out for details and tailored services for publishing houses.

Submission Support
A service for writers who are ready to reach out to agencies and pitch their book. Once you send me your draft letter, I will come back to you with a review which will help you create a letter that you can send to multiple agents.
I will also send a tailored five-page manual, which will outline which agents might enjoy your work, when to contact them and how best to approach pitching your novel. This service does not include a feedback call, but this can be purchased as an add-on service.
A service for writers with a detailed synopsis who are ready to pitch to agents and editors. After reading your 200-word draft, I will give editorial advice, copy edit and proofread your synopsis.
I will then send a report with feedback, discussing how to describe your story in a way that will stand out to anyone who reads it. This service does not include a feedback call, but this can be purchased as an add-on service.
This is a detailed review of the first chapters of a manuscript, designed to maximise the readability of your submission so it is ready to send to agents and publishers.
I will read up to 10,000 words and provide detailed feedback on pacing, structure, narrative voice and character development. I’ll also lightly copy edit your work so it’s ready to submit. This service does not include a feedback call, but this can be purchased as an add-on service.

These services are designed to take you from your first draft to a fully copyedited manuscript. It also includes two feedback sessions when you can ask any questions about feedback or how to enhance your progress.
With a synopsis and query letter you will create an attractive proposal, perfect for presenting your book to agents and publishers. The pitch and submission documents will also give a sense of where your book is positioned in the market, the ideal audience, comparative titles and the best way to take your submission forward.

Editorial Development
This is a light developmental edit, designed to give you an understanding of how well your writing is working in regards to plot, pacing, story structure and character development.
It focuses less on writing mechanics and more on getting your manuscript to be as addictive and compelling to the reader as possible. You will receive a detailed report of up to 2,500 words, with feedback on all of these aspects of your manuscript.
This service does not include a feedback call, but this can be purchased as an add-on service. For manuscripts over 130,000 words, drop me a line and I can create a custom quote.
This is a service for writers who have written the first chapters of their story, and are looking to check if it’s all going in the right direction before they continue their writing process.
You will receive feedback on your synopsis or chapter plan (up to 20,000 words) and feedback on what you have already written. This service includes a 1-hour call and a feedback report.
This service is for writers with a full manuscript, who are looking for a detailed analysis of their work before moving to their next stage of editing, or before submitting to agencies.
I will read your entire manuscript and provide a report on what is working well, and areas that need extra attention. It will cover your structure, plot, character development, narrative voice and pace. You will also receive a character list and chapter breakdown, alongside pointers on grammar, punctuation and format.
Developmental editing costs £16.50 per 1000 words. This service includes a 1-hour feedback call and requires a 50% deposit based on your word count. Payment plans are available on request.
Publishing Services
Line-focused copy editing service from a CIEP-accredited editor. I will check grammar, punctuation, spelling and repetition, sentence and paragraph structure.
With a focus on readability, I make suggestions regarding consistency, facts, references and any other discrepancies. I edit using tracked changes and comments, and will apply a house style or create a tailored style sheet.

I provide CIEP-accredited proofreading services for authors and publishers. During the proofreading stage, I will check your manuscript (ideally in PDF format) for spelling, punctuation and grammar errors. I will apply a house style or create a tailored style sheet for the manuscript. I’ll suggest small changes for readability, check the contents page, bibliography and any facts within the book. I also ensure the page numbers, format, headings and any other design features are accurate.
As a rough guide, proofreading tends to cost between £0.01 and £0.013 per word. My proofreading service starts with a free sample edit of up to 1000 words, which allows me to give you a quote based on what the manuscript needs. If you are happy to go ahead, I require a 50% non-refundable deposit. If you are looking for a tailored package, feel free to get in touch.
